Description | This is a hands on interactive style workshop day presented by Suresh Somasundaran MDS(ORALSURGERY),FFDRCS(OSOM),MFDS RCS. The day will cover many basic essential aspects of minor oral surgery including understanding the common challenges, identification of instruments, organising the kit and the team, complications and looking at case studies. The course will provide practical elements as well as lectures and discussions. | ||
Additional information | * Delegates are encouraged to bring a PA X-Ray of a potential surgical extraction (one of their own patient) for a CBD. * Please note this is a table top hands on session. | ||

Objectives | 1. Discuss the common challenges encountered during routine and complex dental extractions. 2. To understand the basic principles of exodontia. 3. To implement the principles in daily practice. 4. To be able to identify the instruments needed for the procedure and able to use them effectively. 5. How to set up a small practical kit for daily practice in Primary Care. 6. Recognize common complications and their management. | ||
Learning outcomes | 1. Treatment plan surgical extractions appropriately. 2. Have the necessary skills to be able to carry out routine extractions and non-complicated surgical extractions. 3.
