Aims
  • Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the principles of infection prevention and control in dental care. This will allow them to undertake the role of IPC Lead within their working environment.
Objectives

Following the session, delegates will:

 

1. understand germ theory

2. be aware of the importance of legionella control in the dental setting

3. list the standard precautions necessary for infection control

4. have a thorough command of the decontamination cycle

5. be confident to implement and manage validation of decontamination equipment

6. understand the legislation and guidance pertaining to infection control

7. know how to report breaches

8. know how to audit infection control
