DescriptionThis one day practical course covers tooth preparation for indirect restorations. Topics include tooth preparation designs, guidelines and techniques for a range of indirect restorations for anterior and posterior teeth, including composites, ceramics, hybrids, CAD CAM techniques, Endocrowns, monolythic zirconia, VertiPrep, direct inlay, and overlays. The practical elements cover the design, prep checking techniques, impressions, provisionals, try-in and cementation procedures. There will be a table top hands on element to the day.

Aims

The aim of this course is to cover elements of planning, designs, preparations and cementation required to produce  successful indirect restorations.

Objectives

By the end of this course delegates should be able to;-

  1. understand when to use an indirect restoration.
  2. select a suitable material and technique.
  3. be aware of the important features of preparation design
  4. know how to manage the occlusion
  5. be able to carry out accurate tooth preparation
  6. know how to use immediate dentine sealing when appropriate
  7. understand how to take the good impressions, shade, jaw registrations and facebow records where necessary.
  8. be able to correctly cement and check the final restoration.
