DescriptionThis is a free evening CPD event organised with the support of the Devon LDC and the Plymouth Section BDA, to introduce the South West Managed Clinical Networks (MCNs). Each MCN will give a short talk with an opportunity for questions and answers afterwards. They will discuss their role and potential changes in the region and give tips for successful referrals.

Aims

The aim of this course is to introduce the Restorative, Oral Surgery, Special Care and Paediatric and Orthodontic Managed Clinical Networks (MCN)

Objectives

By the end of this session delegates should be able:

· To understand the role of the MCNs in NHS dentistry in the South West

· To discuss the future of dentistry in the context of each MCN

· To explain the referral process in dentistry in the NHS and tips for successful referrals

Learning outcomes

By the end of this session delegates will be able to;-

· Understand the role of the MCNs in NHS dentistry

· Understand the MCN requirements for referrals in the SW area

· Refer appropriately to the relevant area
