DescriptionProf. Avijit Banerjee from KCL Dental Institute @ Guy’s Hospital, London, UK is Professor of cariology and operative dentistry, Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Periodontics and Programme Director, MSc Advanced MI Dentistry amongst other positions. Prof. Banerjee is coming to Exeter with trade partners to provide a lecture and workshop based course explaining what MID is and the techniques that can be used in caries managment. This course is open to all members of the dental practice team (including dentists, nurses, oral health educators, hygienists, therapists, practice managers and other DCPs) and teams are actively encouraged to participate in this verifiable CPD course for all members registered with the GDC.

Aims

The aim of this course is to inform and educate delegates on MI Dentistry – what it is, with clinical and scientific evidence-base, as well as how to implement MI practice with clinical tips and materials.


Objectives

By the end of this course, participants should:


  1. Have a broad appreciation of the concepts/rationale behind MI Dentistry
  2. Be able to understand and appreciate practical, patient-centered caries management protocols to predictably manage the clinical problem,
  3. Be aware of latest investigative and treatment devices / materials / developments in the overall MI management of caries
  4. Understand the latest materials technology regarding the above
  5. Appreciate the role of the practice team in implementing MI Dentistry in clinical dental practice and potential cost implications (NHS and private practice).
