DescriptionThis is an interactive course based on cases of real patients and a chance to update knowledge on periodontitis and peri-implantitis. There will be case based discussions, lectures and plenty of opportunities to ask questions to develop strategies for treating patients with these periodontal problems. The course is open to all dentists, therapists and hygienists and a chance for the whole team to get involved with patient management.
Additional information

This course is being held with the Exeter DFTs at Kenniford farm shop and cafe. Tea and coffee will be provided but  no other catering, however the cafe is there for all to use or feel free to bring your own food for the day.

As a result the cost of the course will be at a lower rate than usual.

Aims

This course will include problem solving to assess current treatment planning methods for periodontitis and peri-implantitis and enable the dental team to improve periodontal treatment planning in general dental practice.


Objectives

By the end of the session the participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and diagnose periodontal disease around teeth and implants.
  2. Use appropriate methods of diagnosis and assessment
  3. Formulate treatment plans with the aid of case studies
  4. Be able to liaise with other members of the team including referral to provide sound care and management.
Learning outcomes

1. Practitioners will be able to identify, diagnose and effectively manage patents with periodontal and peri-implant disease

2. Practitioners will have more knowledge for appropriate referral and liaison with other team members
