Description | This is a day-long update for dentists, hygenists and therapists covering oral infections, white patches, pre-cancer and cancer and their treatmemnt. It will also cover dry mouth, burning mouth, oral allergies & altered taste. The course will be given by Caroline Pankhurst and Richard Cook from the Guys/Kings College (London) team. Caroline gave a blistering session last year on infection control and the Oral Medicine course promises to be just as exciting! | ||

Objectives | · Be able to recognise early lesions of oral cancer & precancer · Know the clinical presentation of oral lichen planus & recurrent oral ulceration & understand both their management and the scientific basis of special investigations · Be able to recognise the symptoms & understand the tests used to diagnose common oral infections and their treatment & management options · Highlight the clinical presentations, causes and management of a dry mouth, burning mouth, oral allergies & altered taste | ||
