DescriptionRebecca John (Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry), will be joining us in Somerset to discuss the best management of caries in primary teeth, including diagnosis and pulp therapy. We will have the opportunity to practice the Hall Technique, using preformed metal crowns on models. This will be an informal course, with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. This course is suitable for all members of the dental team who work with children.

Aims

To equip participants with the knowledge, evidence and basic skills required to manage caries in the primary dentition.

Objectives
  • ​To discuss the need for restoring primary teeth
  • To select the appropriate restorative material for restoring carious primary teeth
  • To discuss the application of pulp therapy techniques in the light of new evidence
  • To review the Hall Technique and evidence relating to its effectiveness
  • To demonstrate hands on practice of placing Hall crowns on models

By the end of the course, participants will be more confident about managing caries in the primary dentition.
