Aims | To improve diagnosis, prognostication and treatment planning of restorative cases including how to break cases in to their endodontic, prosthodontic and periodontic elements. To familiarise delegates to implants and their abutment types and 3D scanning technology. |
Objectives | - Learn how to take a thorough yet specific history and examination of a restorative patient - Using case examples, develop an understanding of endodontic, prosthodontic and periodontic elements to restorative treatment planning. - Via hands-on practical sessions, improve delegates' understanding of dental implant placement and the types of abutment and restoration they support. - Via hands-on practical sessions, understand how 3D scanning and complement and support restorative treatment planning |
Learning outcomes | Following the course, delegates should be able to: - Apply their new knowledge to improve their history and examination of the restorative patient - Be able to assess teeth in terms of their endodontic, prosthodontic and periodontic prognosis and apply this to treatment planning - Place a dental implant in a simulated setting - Recognise the difference between fixed and removable implant restorations and the types of abutments that are available |
