Description | Lecture 1 - An Update on Pain and Anxiety Control in Dentistry - Whither in the second decade of the 21st Century? Lecture 2 - Don't panic - it's just an anxious patient! This session will provide a brief overview of how our individual communication affects every aspect of our clinical practice; both consciously and unconsciously. It will provide some simple ideas of how to recognise and manage these important and often intuitive skills to enhance the experience of patients and the entire dental team. It will introduce ideas to develop understanding of the anxious patient; their responses; and the part we play. It will propose simple techniques based on the use of hypnosis that might be employed in these situations to reduce stress and support successful outcomes. | ||||
