Subject | Periodontology
Description | An initial presentation on periodontal aetiology and diagnosis, including discussion on the fundamental role of bacterial biofilms, is followed by groupwork (working in groups of 3 or 4) on cases with diagnostic dilemmas or problems. There is then discussion on risk factors, illustrated by further groupwork and discussion on more complex cases. At some stage during the day there will be an interactive exercise on the assessment of prognosis for individual teeth. As with all our courses the programme is designed to be highly flexible; most of the day is spent in discussion and the topics covered will vary, depending on the direction of the discussion.
