Aims | • Better awareness of DVA among dental health practitioners, what it is and why it is relevant to health • Upskilled practitioners who feel comfortable and able to ask patients about DVA and provide an appropriate response • Better support for patients affected by DVA To update professional skills |
Objectives | Understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and its relevance to health Having the basic the skills to directly ask your patients about their experience of DVA and provide an appropriate response Understanding your role in responding to and recording DVA Knowing how to use the care pathways to access sources of support for patients with experience of DVA Knowing how to contact and refer to national and local helplines and support services Give the opportunity for DCT's to present Quality Improvement/Audit projects that they have undertaken in their local departments. Take part in discussion of QI/Audit as part of a wider audience at the end of each presentation. |
