Aims

To improve restorative treatment planning skills, including the role of dental implants and outline how complex maxillofacial defects can be rehabilitated with the help of Maxillofacial Prosthetists/ Reconstructive Scientists.

Objectives

· Using practical case examples, revise the restorative treatment planning process.

· To improve delegates' understanding of the case selection and preparation for dental implant care.

· To improve delegates' understanding of the role of the Maxillofacial Prosthetist and Reconstructive Scientists in the management of the head and neck cancer patient.

Learning outcomes

Following the course, delegates should be able to:

· Apply a framework to help treatment plan any dental restorative case.

· Understand in basic practical terms the role dental implants can play as a tooth replacement option for patients.

Understand the role Consultants in Restorative Dentistry can play in the management of multi-disciplinary complex cases.
