Aims

To give an overview of the combined orthodontic & surgical management of common dentofacial deformities and dento-alveolar anomalies.

Objectives
  • Diagnose and understand the aetiology of dentofacial deformity;
  • Understand the orthognathic patient care pathway and the role of each specialty
  • Identify and diagnose common dento-alveolar abnormalities
  • Understand the treatment options available in the management of dento-alveolar abnormalities
  • understand the peri-operative requirements for patient care for both orthognathic and dento-avleolar procedures

Following the course, participants will be in a better position to diagnose, plan and care for patients under the care of a joint orthodontic & surgical multi-disciplinary team
