Description | A course for dental nurses designed to give them the confidence and competence to apply a disclosing material to a patient's teeth and to then record a score using a recognised indicy to help the patient to improve their oral hygiene. Also, to educate the DCP in the application of fluoride varnish to patients under the prescription of a dentist. | ||
Additional information | Two day course. Delegates must attend the theory /practical day 1 in order to attend the OSCE day , day 2. course requirements:- Delegates must be registered with the GDC Delegates must be in current employment Delegates must have professional indemnity cover Delegates must have evidence of upto date CPD in BLS and medical emergencies Delegates will be expected to attend both days and will be expected to record plaque indicies on patients in their work place and complete a record of experience with reflection. Support from the dental surgeon is essential. The DCP will also be expected to have completed their fluoride application patient log book so that they can be assessed during this session that they are competent to apply fluoride application, on a patient, from a prescription of their GDP within their own practices. | ||
