DescriptionThis is an opportunity to attend a highly successful course run by Mrs Nikki Rogers, DCP teacher of the year 2010. The course is tailored specifically for DCPs with teacher led instruction, non threatening group work and lively discussion. The UK GDC requires practitioners and operators to undertake at least 5 hours of verifiable CPD in Radiography / Radiation Protection over a 5 year cycle. Attendance at this course will satisfy requirements. This course is run by the PG department in conjunction with the Bristol Section of the BDA

Aims

To update DCP'sin radiography and radiation protection for optimum patinet safety.

Objectives
  • Understand their role within IRR 1999 and IR(ME)R 2000.
  • Understand the role of Employers, Referrers, Practitioners and Operators.
  • Be aware of the importance of quality assurance programmes and quality assurance procedures
  • Recognise film faults and know how to prevent them
  • Be able to mount films anatomically
  • Be aware of how to produce a step wedge radiograph
