| Aims |
The overall aim is for the participant/candidate, to increase their knowledge and gain a better understanding of health and safety in the workplace. | ||
| Objectives | It is anticipated that by the end of the course the participant/candidate should be able to:- Understand the principles of occupational health and safety and be able to apply this knowledge in the workplace. State and understand the scope of legal and moral responsibilities whilst at work. Understand the principles of accident prevention and the need to report accidents and dangerous occurrences Be aware of the hazards and risks associated with the workplace, work equipment, work activities, display screen equipment and hazardous substances Understand the importance of risk assessment and the practical actions to improve health and safety, therefore, prevent accidents Determine reasonable methods to control risks associated with all aspects of the working environment All of the above are considered in terms of the dental or medical environment The above aims and objectives are met through the completion of an assessment exercise consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions. Participants who complete the course and achieve the required standard will be awarded the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace – www.cieh.org/training The Course is Approved by the FGDP(UK) for Accreditation of CPD hours and Complies with | ||
