Aims

 

The course leader is Carmel Maher, a fully trained adviser, who has worked in close cooperation with dental teams since 2004. Her extensive knowledge extends into many areas, including practical dental practice procedures and in-depth dental product know- how, together with first hand advice on the suitability of dental surgery decontamination equipment and accessories.

Objectives
To provide a detailed explanation of the practices and procedures for
implementing effective infection control as recommended in the Health
Technical Memorandum (HTM)01-05
 
To provide a clear understanding of the reasons for implementing
these procedures
 
To help dental teams move towards ‘Essential Quality Requirements’
and ultimately ‘Best Practice’ as informatively and as simply as
possible
 
To provide a clear understanding of the testing requirements for
decontamination equipment
 
To assist practices in the development of the necessary policies and
protocols as detailed in HTM01-05
