DescriptionAn all day course designed to provide an oral medicine refresher for the general dental practitioner. It will cover ulcerative and blistering conditions, dry mouth and burning mouth problems, oral pre-malignancy and malignancy. Our speaker is a Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Oral Medicine at Birmingham Dental Hospital and School. The course runs from 09.30 to approximately 16.30 providing 6.00 hours of CPD. Registration is from 09.00. The course fee includes lunch and teas/coffees.

2. To increase awareness of oral malignancy and pre-malignancy

Objectives

1. To allude to newer therapies and the evidence base for existing therapies in oral ulcerative conditions

2. To aid management of the patient with xerostomia

3. To aid management of the patient with oral dysaesthesias

4. To help you differentiate the trivial from the sinister and to identify those patients best referred for a specialist opinion

5. To remind you of the nature of oral pre-malignant disease and possible guidance on identification of suspicious clinical presentations with guidance on referral.
