Aims

The aim of the workshop is to provide key information and practical advice about Freedom of Information to Dentists who work wholly or partially in the NHS, in order that they may feel up to date and confident about complying with this important Act.

Objectives

 By the end of the session, delegates should:

  • Know what information held by you is covered by the act
  • ba able to produce a 2009 Freedom of Information publication scheme
  • Know who can ask to see information that you hold
  • Know exemptions and the “Public Interest Test”
  • Be able to handle requests to view information
  • Know some record management techniques that can help
