DescriptionAdrian Binney and Jennie Haywood-Hull are a well-known lecturing duo, currently practicing in Cardiff. They hope to cover new ideas with grafting in periodontology, periowave- photodynamic therapy, also touch on soft tissue surgery and systemic treatments of periodontal surgery with antimicrobials. They will use interactive teaching with case studies. Registration will be from 12.00noon when sandwiches and beverages will be available.

Aims

To provide an arena for delegates to explore the role of periodontics in mdern dentistry and in the contemporary NHS

Objectives

By the end of the afternoon delegates should: 

1. have an appreciation of the aetiology of and risk factors associated with periodontal disease

2. have an appreciation of new grafting techniques, periowave and photodynamic therapy and the role of antimicrobials in periodontal therapy

3. have an appreciation of the role of teamwork in periodontal treatment

4. have an appreciation of the interplay between implants and periodontics
