DescriptionThis is an evening seminar for dentists covering criteria for referrals to Hospital Orthodontic Departments and to Specialist Orthodontic Providers. The seminar will be run by a team of consultant orthodontists from Dorchester and Bournemouth and also practice based specialists. It should be of particular interest to Dorset dentists to assist in making appropriate orthodontic referrals. Our speakers will cover an overview of various patient types, how they should be referred and how they are currently managed in West and East Dorset. There will be reference to the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need. The course will run between 18.30 - 20.30 with registration and a cold buffet from 18.00.

To discuss cases which should be referred early.

To provide an overview of various patient types and how they are currently managed within the service.

By the end of the session, course participants should have a better understanding of:-

- how to refer patients into the current system.

- how East Dorset referral systems differ from those in the West

- the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN)
