Aims | To
1. give an overview of pulp therapy – what’s new and what actually works
2. outline preformed metal crowns- their use and new techniques (Hall).
3. outline lastest guidelines on traumatized incisor teeth.
4. summarise management of enamel defects |
Objectives | At the end of this symposium participants will
1. know how to manage primary teeth with deep carious lesions and understand the evidence base for
indirect pulp capping
2. understand the use of the non-invasive Hall technique for placement of preformed metal crowns in young
children. Participants will also appreciate the rationale, method, clinical and patient-centred outcomes of
this treatment.
3. have a good understanding of the latest clinical guidelines for the management of permanent incisors
which have sustained luxation injuries, including avulsions. They will understand the importance of
considering the apical maturity of injured teeth in subsequent treatment decisions.
4. be able to classify and diagnose enamel defects. Participants will also understand practical advice on how
to manage enamel defects of cosmetic concern in the young patient.
