| Aims | 1. examine why and how dentists are monitored
2. review past present and future ways of monitoring dentists
3. make the dental team aware of how PCTs currently monitor their quality and performance
4. explain NICE guidelines and how to adhere to them
5. emphasise the importance of good record keeping for patient care and medico-legally To discuss how monitoring will develop in the new contract
6. discuss how CQC will monitor
7. explain the role of patient feedback as a monitoring tool

| Objectives | At the end of this symposium participants will

2. know of proposed CQC inspection plans and their risk profiling
