Aims

To update all members of the dental team who are involved in the prevention and treatment of periodontal treatment, and how a team approach could be beneficial.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  1. List the current classification of periodontal disease
  2. Describe the rationale for non-surgical periodontal therapy, and be aware of the different adjunctive treatments including antibiotics and when they ate needed.
  3. Understand the importance of, and impact of supportive periodontal therapy.
  4. Understand potential treatment options for improving aesthetics in the periodontally compromised patient.
