Aims

To ensure that all staff are aware of both adult and child abuse and recognise their role within the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Adult Policy/Bournemouth Dorset and Poole Safeguarding Procedure.

Objectives

By the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Define the terms vulnerable adult and abuse
  • Define risk factors for both adults and children
  • Recognise and respond to abusive situations
  • List possibley indicators and respond appropriately to disclosure
  • To define role played by Multi Agency Policies and to explore the requirement of the dental team to be aware of the need for information sharing and integrated working.
