It will address ulcerative and blistering conditions, dry mouth and burning mouth problems, oral premalignancy and malignancy. The material will be focussed to the needs of primary care and will include a brief discussion on referrals.

A)  To provide an update in Oral Medicine for the primary care setting

B)  To increase awareness of oral malignancy and premalignancy

Objectives

       

A)  Allude to newer therapies and the evidence base for existing therapies in oral ulcerative conditions.

B)  To aid management of the patient with xerostomia.

C)  To aid management of the patient with oral dysaesthesias.

D)   Help you to differentiate the trivial from the sinister.

E)  Help you identify those patients best referred for a specialist opinion.

F)  Remind you of the nature of oral premalignant disease and possible guidance on identification of     suspicious clinical presentation. 

G)  To provide guidance on referral.
