Aims

1. To increase the awareness of the Dental team to Oral Cancer
2. To assist the Dental team in identifying tissue changes and the methods of referral to the Hospital team
3. To provide up to date information on the oral health management and the care of the patient, pre and post operatively and during rehabilitation
 

Objectives

By the end of the seminar the delegates will be able to:
1. Recognise the changes in the soft tissues that need referral to the hospital team
2. Refer their patients in the correct way to the correct department
3. Understand the patient treatment pathway
4. Discuss the smoking cessation programmes available to Dental Practices
5. recognise the roles of the Speech and Language Therapists, the Dietician and the Macmillan Nurse support team in the patient's rehabilitation programme
