| Description | The control of infection in dental practice is of vital importance to protect the health and safety of the dental team and their patients. It is, however, sometimes difficult to know exactly what is practical and safe. This one day course is designed for the whole dental team and its 5 hours verifiable CPD will be sufficient for all the CPD core topic requirement necessary for DCP registrants by the General Dental Council. All of your five years CPD requirement on decontamination in one day! Not only that, but the course will be presented with exceptional style and good humour by two of the country’s leading experts on decontamination. The course will cover all aspects of infectious diseases relevant to dentistry including: ... their relative risks and recommended preventive action. l Surgery design, with infection control in mind, will be discussed together with the debate on central versus surgery sterilisation facilities. l The use of automated methods of decontamination will be dealt with practical hints on how they should be used. l The proper use of disinfectants suitable for each area of the surgery will be discussed in detail and water line decontamination will be covered. l At the end of the course participants should have gained a thorough knowledge of infection control and decontamination procedures and be able to practice it safely in their surgeries to the standard required by the existing BDA A12 guidelines. | ||
