DescriptionPlease join us for an exciting day discussing all things implants. The course is designed to empower dental teams in the effective management of patients with dental implants. The programme focuses on building confidence at every stage of care - from treatment planning and patient communication through to long-term maintenance and follow-up. Led by Dr Tim Harris and Dr Colin McGuirk of The Circus Dental Practice in Bath, the day will combine clinical expertise with practical guidance. The course will also feature contributions from other members of the dental team, including dental hygienists, to provide a holistic perspective on implant care and highlight the value of collaborative teamwork.
Additional information

Please note that there is a clinical component to this course and therefore appropriate clinical dress and footwear is required.  Please also ensure to bring loupes if you use them.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided but lunch will need to be brought or purchased from one of the many local cafe's to The Circus.

  • To build confidence in identifying suitable implant candidates and understanding the patient journey
  • To showcase current advances in implant planning, placement, materials, and maintenance
  • To strengthen collaboration between referring colleagues and the clinical team across a multi-clinic practice
  • To demystify implant dentistry and encourage dental teams to get more involved - whether planning, restoring or referring
Objectives
  • Understand the key indications, contraindications, and treatment pathways for implant-based solutions
  • Recognise the role of CBCT, digital workflows, and guided planning tools in improving predictability
  • Understand maintenance protocols, long-term follow-up, and the shared responsibilities between surgeon, restorative dentist, dental hygienist and patient
  • Identify peri-implant diseases early and understand the principles of prevention
  • Gain hands-oon experience with implant components, impression options, healing abutments, and digital scanning
  • Confidently communicate implant options to patients, manage expectations, and know when to refer
  • Understand the pathways available for further education, mentorship and collaborative case support
