DescriptionHow can you support environmentally sustainable change while improving health outcomes for your patients? This workshop will support you in developing a quality improvement project idea with an environmental and social sustainability perspective. It will include small group and individual break-out sessions, during which you will have time to apply the concepts discussed, to your own change idea.
Additional information
  • If possible, please bring along a change idea to develop during the session. If you don't currently have a project idea, please consider which area of practice your project will address (e.g. Delivery suite, Inhaler Use).
  • If you already have a supervisor for your QI project, please do invite them to attend the session as well. Please email us at SEVFoundation.SW@hee.nhs.uk if your supervisor will be attending.
  • A certificate of attendance will be provided.

Aims

To support attendees in developing a sustainability perspective which they can apply critically to healthcare provision and change management within their work and beyond.

Objectives
  • To explain how the climate and ecological crisis is impacting human health, and how healthcare provision is contributing to the climate and ecological crisis
  • To appreciate the need for environmentally sustainable change within the NHS
  • To outline the current NHS net zero targets and the role that health workers have in achieving them
  • To apply the Sustainability in Quality Improvement Framework to develop a change project idea.
