DescriptionRegional Careers Fair for Foundation Doctors A regional careers fair designed to support foundation doctors in exploring future career pathways. The day will offer a morning of speciality-focused talks facilitated by SHOs in training and an afternoon of a careers fair hosted by Consultants and senior Registrars.

Morning session:

Short talks delivered by SHOs in training, focusing on 'day in the life' and the application process for their specialty. There will also be talks on F3 opportunities, such as working abroad in Australia/New Zealand.

Morning talks include and Q+As (not limited to):

ACCS (Acute Care Common Stem)

IMT (Internal Medicine Training)

CST (Core Surgical Training)

F3 in Australia/New Zealand

Afternoon session:

A careers fair with speciality-specific tables run by Consultants or SpRs, providing the opportunity to ask questions about the speciality.

The careers fair aims to provide foundation year 2 doctors with insight into a range of career pathways and the opportunity to ask specific career-focused questions to support continuing professional development.

Overview of various training pathways and non-training options after foundation training

Develop an understanding of the day in the life of training SHOs

Understand the application process for various training pathways

Explore non-training options such as an F3 abroad

Explore the SAS pathway

Discussions with Consultants and SpR, allowing opportunities for Q+As
