Aims

A regional training day for F2 doctors aiming to improve your confidence and knowledge in managing cardiological patients.

Objectives
  1. To improve learners' understanding and management of acute coronary syndromes including discussion of the updated definition of myocardial infarction;
  2. To improve learners' recognition and management of tachyarrhythmias;
  3. To improve learners' confidence and ability in managing ward calls to a cardiological patient;
  4. To improve learners' ability and knowledge of the management of acute heart failure;
  5. To prepare learners to undertake the following procedures in a supervised environment: DC cardioversion, external pacing, pericardiocentesis;
  6. To improve learners' ability to interpret echocardiograms (ECGs).
