Description | An interactive workshop based study day covering the clinical skills detailed in the Foundation Curriculum. |
Additional information | The seven workshops will enable doctors to learn and demonstrate learning through peer and faculty assessment at each of the six workshops. You will be provided with a work manual with pre-reading, detailed one-to-one tuition on the day, assessment by skilled practitioners and a certificate of attendance. You must attend one of the ten days between UH Bristol, NBT and Bath. Places are restricted to 35 and early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. We will endeavour to accommodate dietary requirements, however, catering suppliers vary between venues so this cannot be guaranteed. If you have particular dietary requirements, food allergies or intolerances, please contact the course organiser. |

Aims | The aim of the course is to provide direct training of required Foundation Clinical Skills. Specific objectives will be to learn, demonstrate learning and, where achievable, demonstrate competency at each workstation. |
Objectives | The Clinical Skills day will include small group teaching at a series of workstations includingchest drain management, pleurocentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, suturing, knee aspiration, airways management and use of CPAP/BiPAP. |
