Aims

A day of seminars and small group workshops to give foundation doctors a taster of what the work of a modern day psychiatrist can entail and gain skills and knowledge of mental health relevant to all areas of medicine.

Objectives
  • Develop useful psychiatric skills, including mental state examination and management of patients who refuse treatment.
  • Introduce some common psychiatric conditions, explore their aetiology and how they may present to healthcare professionals
  • Understand more about the role of the psychiatrist and psychiatry as a career pathway
