DescriptionHow can you support environmentally sustainable change while improving health outcomes for your patients? This workshop will support you in undertaking a quality improvement project that considers environmental and social impacts of care. It will include small group break-out sessions, during which you will have time to apply the concepts discussed.

  • If you have a project idea, do bring along a summary and feel free to ask how sustainability concepts could be applied to it.
  • A certificate of attendance will be provided.

Aims

To support attendees in developing a sustainability perspective which they can apply critically to healthcare provision and change management within their work and beyond.

Objectives
  • To explain how the climate and ecological crisis is impacting human health, and how healthcare provision is contributing to the climate and ecological crisis
  • To appreciate the need for environmentally sustainable change within the NHS
  • To outline the current NHS net zero targets and the role that health workers have in achieving them
  • To discuss how the Sustainability in Quality Improvement Framework can be applied to support the inclusion of sustainability in your QI work
