DescriptionThis two day residential course uses a mix of simulation based training and outdoor workshops to enhance clinical knowledge, professional skills and team working. Working together with colleagues in an unfamiliar environment whilst managing out of hospital patients enables enhanced training in leadership, team-working and crew resource management. Structured mental health and resilience workshops together with an off site, overnight element foster lasting connections with colleagues. Open discussion with our diverse faculty of their NHS career journeys generates tools in resilience and restores enthusiasm for our profession.

The course is delivered through a highly experienced faculty using simulation, workshops, lectures and open discussions, all taking place in a beautiful outdoor setting. The course provides clinical remote medicine simulation training with a focus on crew resource management (CRM), teamwork and leadership as well as structured mental health and resilience workshops. Wellbeing is woven in throughout the course: open discussions are encouraged during every session; the course is held off site with evening meal and campfire chats enabling reconnection with our colleagues. Wellbeing activities form part of our extra curricular content.

Aims

The aim of this course is to improve clinical, professional and mental health skills through outdoor simulations in remote medicine.
