Aims

By the end of this one day session candidates will be able to:

  1. Approach patients with bloody diarrhoea including differential diagnosis and investigations
  2. Manage patients with inflammatory bowel disease including recognising red flags and escalating treatment
  3. Recognise patients with decompensated liver disease and have a structured approach to their investigations and management
  4. Investigate and treat patients who have taken a significant paracetamol overdose
  5. Confidently perform an ascitic tap and ascitic drain and be competent at consent and post procedure management
  6. Manage patients with acute upper gastrointestinal haemorrhage
