Objectives

1.Understand the framework and principles of law and ethics in medicine, and why these are central to good care

2.Reflect on the importance of clear reasoning and communication

3.Understand the processes that scrutinise clinical practice and hold doctors to account

4.Be able to critically engage and reason in various clinical scenarios and cases

5.The cases will include discussions around decision-making where there’s a lack of capacity; disagreement between parties; arriving at a best interest’s plan; consent; treatment at the end of life
