Lecturer profileUrshla (Oosh) Devalia is a Paediatric Dental Consultant working at the Eastman Dental Hospital. She is a Clinical Policy Lead for NHS England at the Office of the Chief Dental Officer, developing an oral health initiative for children and young people with learning difficulties and/or autism in residential special education settings as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.

Oosh is the National Lead for Mini Mouth Care Matters and a member of the Executive Committee for the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD). She represents BSPD at the All Party Parliamentary Group on a Fit and Healthy Childhood, regularly attending meetings (now virtual) at the House of Commons and contributing to a number of briefing papers to improve health and social care for children and young people across the UK.

Lecturer profileLaura is National Specialty Director for Paediatric Dentistry. She is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Liverpool School of Dentistry, where she is Undergraduate Programme Director. She is National Specialty Director for Paediatric Dentistry and President of the Education Research Group of International Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research. She is a past Fellow of the Lady Estelle Wolfson Emerging Leaders Programme and has roles with RCS England and WinS as a speaker, mentor, and educator. She has a PhD in dental trauma and has presented widely as an invited speaker. Her current research interests focus on dental trauma, dental education, and leadership in healthcare.
