Lecturer profileSamantha graduated from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1997 subsequently gaining MFDS RCS(Eng) in 2002, following further training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

She currently works in general dental practice and oral surgery and has past experience in cosmetic dental practice, special care dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Samantha trained in clinical hypnosis in her final year of dental school and has successfully used hypnosis techniques throughout her career in dentistry. She has found hypnosis particularly useful in the treatment of anxious patients, those struggling with a pronounced gag reflex, needle phobias and dental phobias.

She initially trained with The British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis and is now an active member of BSCAH, teaching on the foundation course in clinical hypnosis.
