Lecturer profile | I qualified as a medical microbiologist before embarking on my dental career. After initially working in general dental practice, I returned to the School of Dentistry to undertake a number of junior hospital /teaching roles before being appointed as a full time clinical lecturer in Periodontology. Since my appointment, I have developed a profile in teaching and research, becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and completed my PhD in 2010. I am actively involved with the British Society of Periodontology as both Honorary Treasurer and as a member of the Education Committee. My current role is that of a Reader/Honorary Consultant in Periodontology at the School of Dentistry, University of Birmingham |
