I qualified in 2001 at Manchester University, completed the MFGDP (UK) examinations in 2006 and a Masters in Medical Law (LLM) with Merit in 2015. I became a member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine (MFFLM) in 2019.
In addition to working as a dento legal adviser for the DDU I also work in General Practice in Manchester city centre and, from 2004 to 2020, worked as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Manchester

I graduated as a dentist from Leeds Dental Institute in 1991 and began my career as a house officer in restorative dentistry then senior house officer in oral surgery. I have worked in Community dental services, NHS and Private general practices in the UK and also in government dental services in West Australia. For many years I worked in higher education, designing and delivering undergraduate programmes for Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy, my interest in curriculum, professionalism, teamwork and standards led to a role with the General Dental Council as an Education Associate. I currently work as a dento legal adviser for the DDU.
