Challenges of Maintaining Good Oral Health for the Medically Compromised Patient - An overview of the issues the issues in maintaining oral health for the medically compromised patient

Voice of a Parent - To reinforce to delegates that oral health is vital and the complexities of having a child with complex and profound needs are something that is vital.

Posture and the Management of Musculoskeletal Pain – Assist participants in recognise their own postural issues and gain a comprehensive understanding of how postural dysfunction contributes to back and neck pain.

Setting Boundaries – a way to better mental health - To help delegates understand their own boundaries and present strategies to help them set and maintain them.

Objectives

Challenges of Maintaining Good Oral Health for the Medically Compromised Patient - Discuss the issues with maintaining oral health for medically compromised patients

Voice of a Parent – Explain the voice of a family, parent and young person who has additional disabilities and needs.

Posture and the Management of Musculoskeletal Pain - Explain the voice of a family, parent and young person who has additional disabilities and needs.

Setting Boundaries – a way to better mental health - To

  • understand the importance of setting personal boundaries in maintaining good mental health
  • review signs of unhealthy boundaries in ourselves and others
Learning outcomes

Challenges of Maintaining Good Oral Health for the Medically Compromised Patient – To improve the audience’s knowledge and provide guidance on oral health for such patients

Voice of a Parent – Identify how important their role is and what reasonable adjustments can be made with very little input. Allow for reflection time.

Posture and the Management of Musculoskeletal Pain - Participants will receive actionable steps to address and minimize potential postural challenges encountered by dental professionals.

Setting Boundaries – a way to better mental health - Delegates will

  • have a better understanding of the importance of having good boundaries.
  • be able to recognise signs of poor boundaries in themselves and others.
