  • Understand the importance of hand hygiene in primary dental care and how this impacts upon preventing the spread of infection.

Social Media in Dentistry- The do's and dont's

  • Describe the benefits and pitfalls when using social media as a DCP.

Forensic Odontology - The Dental Evidence

  • Examine What is Odontology
  • Discuss The identification process
  • Introduce how DCPs can engage/become involved with forensic dentistry

  • To explore CV formats.
  • To consider how language, both written and verbal can affect your success.
  • Practical hints and tips to improve your CV (delegates to bring their own CV if possible).
  • Practical hints and tips to prepare for an interview.
Learning outcomes

Infection Control - Its in your hands

Following the session delegates will be able to:

  • Access National Guidance Documents to support compliance with hand hygiene in primary dental care.
  • Explore and discuss areas of research and evidence for hand hygiene.
  • Recognise the risks of poor compliance.
  • Appreciate the importance of hand hygiene and monitor compliance within the workplace.

Social Media in Dentistry - The do's and dont's

Following the session delegates will:

  •  Understand that they have a responsibility to behave professionally and responsibly both online and offline.

Forensic Odontology - The Dental Evidence

Following the session delegates will have:

  • Increased awareness of the processes for DCPs in forensic dentistry
  • Greater insight into a ‘day in the life of a DCP’ involved with the forensic process
  • Increased appreciation of the need for good communication and multidisciplinary team approach necessary to manage mass disasters
