DescriptionAs a delegate at this event you will work with your peers to review safeguarding case studies guided by professional advisers. Discussions include safeguarding issues, your safeguarding role and mental capacity drawing on relevant legislation and safeguarding policy.
Additional information

The event will assist you in your personal practice and in adhering to requirements required by the GDC & CQC.

This course will offer 3 hours of CPD. 1.5hrs of Level 2 safeguarding adults, and 1.5hrs of Level 2 safeguarding children. Level 2 is a requirement for all clinical staff, plus any non-clinical staff who perform duties that require more in-depth contact with children, young people, vulnerable adults and/or parents/carers

A selection of vegetarian/non vegetarian options will be made available, however please be aware that we are unable to cater for special dietary requirements such as Gluten Free, Nut Allergy, Vegan. We therefore suggest that delegates bring their own food if you have a specialist requirement.

Aims

To develop professional knowledge and competence in adult and children safeguarding, commensurate with Level 2 Safeguarding.

Objectives

To deliver information, for members of the dental team, relating to current best practice in safeguarding adults and children through case studies, group discussion and workshops.

The learner will be able to:

  • Recognise, respond to, and share, safeguarding concerns
  • Describe the importance of inter-agency working and information sharing
  • Discuss how adults can be supported to access safeguarding services
  • Recognise the barriers regarding engagement and compliance by children, young people, and their families
  • Signpost families to access safeguarding support
  • State how and when to consult a safeguarding lead
  • Source relevant safeguarding literature
Learning outcomes

Following the training the learner will confidently carry out their safeguarding role with the dental setting.
