Aims

To review management of dental trauma in primary care.

To review oral cancer surveillance, what to do if you suspect oral cancer, summarise the oral cancer pathway and likely follow up.

Objectives

To improve the understanding of diagnosis, management and long term consequences of dento alveolar trauma

To update and reinforce the dental teams knowledge of the assessment and management of oral cancer patients

Learning outcomes

Understand the differing injuries that may present.

Understand the principles of management.

Recognising the importance of follow up and the possible complication.

Knowing when and who to refer to.

To feel confident to assess and manage the follow up of an oral cancer patient.
