Lecturer name | Mr Rahul Patel BDS MSc (Endo) |
Lecturer profile | Rahul qualified from Sheffield University 28 years ago and then worked in several general practices in Sheffield, Tamworth and Southwest London gaining extensive experience before buying a partnership in an independent mixed practice in Witney, Oxfordshire in April 2007. The last 17 years running his own practice has been extremely rewarding. It has been a challenge to be involved in the running of a busy practice, transition through the retirements and ill health of my partners, and motivate staff, while always maintaining the highest standards of dentistry throughout the practice. Prior to that in 2001 Rahul undertook a part time PG Certificate course in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute where he learnt to critically evaluate his dentistry in the various disciplines of restorative dentistry, and it was during this period that he developed an interest in endodontics. Since then, he has completed an MSc in Endodontics at Queen Mary University of London. Currently he is a council member for the British Endodontic Society(BES). In his spare time, he enters various mountain and road biking events and before that spent the best part of 20 years rowing competitively. Rahul is shortly to start the British rowing coaching qualification courses to help support the next generation of rowers.
