DescriptionThis course is one of a number of courses designed to provide an Introduction to primary care NHS dentistry – essential for dentists undertaking an Educational/Clinical Support Plan (ECSP). This course is also suitable for other dentists who are new to the NHS, dentists returning to NHS practice, and any dental professional interested in learning more about the featured topics. Requirements of the GDC and CQC will be met by this course.

Small group interactive teaching to facilitate the learning outcomes as listed below and/or identified by the TPD in advance as a focus area of development

Learning outcomes

To demonstrate an understanding in the management and prevention of caries in the paediatric patient in general practice

To Understand the practical application of deciduous tooth pulp therapy and the hall application of stainless steel crowns.

To be able to diagnose and treat dental trauma in children and refer appropriately

To be able effectively manage the behaviour of anxious paediatric patients and seek appropriate referral.
