Aims

To provide a theoretical day in conscious sedation for qualified sedation dental nurses providing 6 of the 12 mandatory hours required within a 5 year period.

Objectives

At the end of the course the delegates should be able to:

1 Have knowledge of the current legislation associated with dental sedation.

2 Link the theoretical knowledge to their own workplace facilitating patients treatment when receiving intravenous, inhalation and oral sedation understanding their role within each.

3 Understand the importance of monitoring patients during sedation recognising normal and abnormal readings amd the action to take should the latter occur.
